This qualification provides an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge that may be required for employment in a particular vocational sector. The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall understanding of those working in the school sector. They provided a first insight in to the principles and process of Teaching and Learning in Schools and will aid career progression.

Duration 12 month minimum
Requirements To complete this qualification, candidates must achieve 44 Credits from a choice of units specialising within your service sector.
Delivery All workplace based (for individual or groups)
Assessment Observation, discussion, personal statement, supporting documentation, portfolio of evidence, invigilate tests and examinations.
Learner support Learning material, all workplace based
Progression A foundation degree in a related discipline or job roles such as Senior Special Needs Assistant or Educational Support Assistant

(Level 3 NVQ/QCF) Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools - Qualification structure

To achieve the Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning full Level 3, learners must complete a minimum of forty-four credits, of which forty credits must be selected from units at Level 3 or above. The learner must achieve thirty-two credits must be completed from Group A mandatory units and the remaining twelve credits must be selected from optional units in Groups B, C, D, E, F and G.
