This qualification provides an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge that may be required for employment for those new to Teaching and Training. The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall understanding of those working in the school sector. It will provide a first insight in to the principles and process of Education and Training in Schools and will aid career progression.

Requirements To complete this qualification, candidates must achieve 12 Credits from a choice of units specialising within your service sector.
Delivery All classroom and workplace based (for individual or groups)
Assessment Observation, discussion, personal statement, supporting documentation, testimony, questioning.
Learner support Learning material, optional in-company workshops
Progression Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or job roles in Educating or Training adults

(Level 3 QCF) BTEC Award in Education and Training - Qualification structure

To achieve the Education and Training full Level 3, learners must complete a minimum of twelve credits, of which three credits must achieved from Group A mandatory units and the remaining nine credits must be selected from optional units in Groups B and C [maximum of six credits from Group B and three credits from Group C].

Units (1*), (2*) & (3*): These are units from the Learning and Development suite. These units affect the amount of Guided Learning Hours required to complete the qualification. Forty-eight hours minimum, if no learning and development unit selected and sixty-one hours maximum, where learning and development units selected.
