These qualifications are aimed at those seeking work in health and social care with adults and those already working in organisations who wish to further develop their skills. The qualifications are designed to cater for the technical skills, knowledge and understanding required in specific job roles in the Health and Social Care Sector. They also reflect the range and depth of competence in areas in the sector, which allows the learner to develop their own personal growth and engagement.

Requirements To complete this qualification, candidates must achieve 60 Credits from a choice of units specialising within your service sector.

Assessment Observation, discussion, personal statement, supporting documentation, testimony, questioning.
Learner support Learning material, optional in-company workshops
Progression Level 4 higher apprenticeships in Health and Social Care or jobs roles in Health and Social Care

(Level 3 QCF) Subsidiary Diploma in Health and Social Care - Qualification structure

To achieve the health and social care full Level 3 qualification, the learner must complete a minimum of sixty credits, of which forty-five credits must be achieved at level 3 or above; thirty credits must be selected from Group A - Mandatory units and thirty credits from Groups B Optional units [this qualification is not designed to include credit from other QCF level 3 BTEC units].

Unit (3*): Exploring Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care requires 50 hours of work experience to be completed. This unit is strongly recommended within the National Subsidiary programme as it will provide invaluable experiences for learners both in terms of the assessment of other units within the programme and as an aid to career choices.
